Dr Perera’s Rating:
Richard Bach, author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, provides a series of short stories with a twist in One. Richard and his wife, Leslie, are on their way to Los Angeles when a sudden, unexpected, event transports them to another dimension.
In the alternate dimension, Bach and his wife have a series of adventures viewing alternative lives. They get a picture of “what could be”, and finally they come out of what is their matrix.
The adventures are surreal and educational, centered on the concepts of unity and amity. The concept of parallel universes is explored as well. Above all, the book puts forth the idea that we are the architect of our own life.
One was written many years prior to Richard and Leslie separating, as well as Bach’s plane crash and his own personal near-death experience. Eerily foretelling, this is a good book for someone who is interested in fiction that can be read lightly or given deeper thought, based on the mood or mindset of the reader.
